Thursday 26th March
Steve Smith’s first Michelin star was achieved at Gordleton Mill in Hampshire at the tender age of 24. He had risen to the position of Head Chef after initially working under the legendary Jean-Christophe Novelli. From here, further Michelin recognition followed as Head Chef at Holbeck Ghyll, Guellers and Seaham Hall.
His tenure at the idyllic Burlington restaurant – situated within The Devonshire Country House Hotel in Yorkshire - was equally successful. Under Smith’s stewardship, the restaurant won a Michelin star and 4 AA rosettes. His recent home was Bohemia in Jersey where he has held a Michelin Star since 2013 and in 2018 was awarded 5 coveted AA Rosettes. Steve achieved a cooking score of 8 and 21st place in the 2020 Good Food Guide. In February, Steve will be taking the role of Head Chef in the Michelin Starred Latymer restaurant in Penyhill Park, Surrey.
Steve’s food is based on traditional elements startlingly reworked. His dishes are very much ingredient-led with an emphasis on extracting maximum flavour and versatility from each.
This exciting Guest Chef Night will begin with Billecart Salmon Champagne and canapés followed by Steve’s 6 course tasting menu.
