Join us for a special evening at our Saint Clair Wine Maker Dinner this Autumn and enjoy a beautiful 4 course dinner by Executive Chef Douglas Balish with wines chosen to match each course from the New Zealand winery Saint Clair. Kyle Thompson - Senior Winemaker will be hosting the evening and talking through the wonderful selection wines and why they have been chosen.
Saint Clair is owned by Neal and Judy Ibboston, viticulture pioneers in Marlborough since 1978. The company’s mission is to create world-class wines that exceed their customers’ every expectation. Neal Ibbotson combines his extensive viticultural expertise plus Marlborough’s mix of climate and soils with the talent of one of New Zealand’s leading winemaking teams.
Kyle is Senior Winemaker at Saint Clair and has always been passionate about wine, but his interest in the wine industry began in earnest while living in London and working in France. After two vintages in Bordeaux, a vintage in Tuscany, and further winemaking study, Kyle returned to his homeland of New Zealand.
Having worked with a number of renowned Marlborough wineries, Kyle was excited by the opportunity to join Saint Clair at the beginning of 2006 – when the new state-of-the-art winery was being built. Kyle appreciates being part of a winemaking team that has received such consistent recognition of its winemaking success through numerous medals, awards and trophies, both internationally and domestically.
