Meet our Executive Chef

Douglas arrived at the Grove in Spring 2019 coming from The Tudor Room in Surrey. Born in Scotland, Douglas began his career in Ayrshire before gaining a wealth of experience in some of the top ranked restaurants in the UK including Bohemia and Whatley Manor, as well as the world-renowned Quay restaurant in Sydney. He joined The Tudor Room in 2014 and was first awarded a Michelin Star in 2016 which he held until he left. The restaurant was also awarded 4 coveted AA Rosettes in 2018.

Now in Pembrokeshire, Douglas is able to take his inspiration from our locality.  He is blessed to have large kitchen and herb gardens at the Grove which supplies the majority of his vegetables and herbs. There is also a rich bounty of wild pickings within and around the grounds including sorrel, pennywort, wild garlic and summer fruits together with wild mushrooms from Canaston Woods just a stone’s throw from the restaurant.
