Since acquiring a Grove in September 2007, we have been busy restoring this beautiful property, its outbuildings and gardens.
The house and grounds had previously been a derelict country house left empty for many years before we found it. It was in quite a state with gaping holes in the roof, rotten and broken windows, and the grounds completely overgrown. The longhouse and Poyer’s cottage were looking particularly sorry for themselves and effectively needed to be rebuilt.
Since then we have worked tirelessly to lovingly restore the property with the help of local tradesmen and craftwork specialists some of which we have retained from very beginning.
You can see the transformation from derelict house to this beautiful hotel of today in our series of slide shows – giving you a glimpse of some of the challenges we faced restoring this truly special place.
A special thank you goes to the construction team, our suppliers, RBS and the Welsh Assembly Government for their support in making this possible. We’d also like to thank our friends and family who continued to believe in this project even when our heads were down.
