History

Restored with love

Grove was bought in 2007 by adventurous owners Neil and Zoe Kedward, who saw through the derelict house, dilapidated outbuildings and overgrown grounds, and fell in love with it all. They have worked tirelessly to carefully restore the beautiful property with the help of local tradesmen and craftwork specialists, many of whom still help with our ongoing development work.

Grove’s Gardens

Enchanting throughout the year

From the crocuses and snowdrops signalling the end of winter, through to the spring daffodils that make way for a carpet of bluebells. The first signs of summer are seen just outside our front door, where our Japanese cherry blossoms bloom into bouncy, beautiful flower, and the fields and woodlands surrounding us are filled with wild flowers. But summer’s grand entrance comes with the rhododendrons that blaze into colour throughout the gardens.

The trees and the woodland begin to glow red and yellow in the sunlight as autumn arrives, and the Japanese cherry blossoms transform into a beautiful orange canopy above the terrace. Winter brings us crisp skies and crunchy walks through the grounds, with vast views through bare trees, contrasted by pretty herbaceous and perenial plants in borders around the house.

The garden is framed by ancient oaks and towering beeches and from our hillside glade you can enjoy views across the rolling Pembrokeshire countryside, to the Preseli Hills in the distance.

Grab your walking shoes

Our fun-loving gardening team have prepared a network of paths for you to follow and explore our 26 acre grounds. Grab your shoes and take a casual “ling di long” stroll – without a care or worrying about time.

Little ones can search for our tiny fairy doors hidden at the foot of trees, where the Welsh “tylwyth teg” has often been spotted by those who truly believe in magic.

On a clear evening, a late stroll under starlight is also a must. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the dancing stars give an exceptional show.

Sustainability

Growing the future

Several years ago we embarked on a project to return areas around Grove to native woodland and meadow. Over 5000 trees were planted using local species like sessile oak, ash, birch, willow, alder, holly and hazel.

We hope that our project will create beautiful wooded areas in years to come, helping build a new natural habitat, as well as lovely walking routes for you to enjoy.

People

A family at heart

Our team are at the heart of Grove. They all share a true passion for great hospitality, and have a strong affection for this beautiful property. In Wales, we call this feeling “hiraeth,” a nostalgia for the place your soul feels at home. For us, that place is Grove. We hope it will be for you too.
