The Gardens

The Grove’s gardens offer a stunning visual treat throughout the year, framed as they are by ancient oaks and towering beech trees. In early spring, the copper of the beeches contrasts with the pretty crocuses and daffodils that line our driveway and streams.

These soon make way to a carpet of bluebells in the sweeping meadow from our cottages to the lawn of the main house. Our stream that runs through the grounds is surrounded by stunning moisture loving meadow plants to create a diversity of bedding plants and wild flowers throughout the gardens.

As we move into summer, our huge rhododendrons and flower borders blaze into colour. Soon the restoration of our walled garden will be completed offering a perfect place for guests to take leisurely strolls following a visit to the restaurant.  Explore and find a beautiful summer house surrounded by orchard trees, lavender, rose gardens and a stunning array of wall climbing flowers.

Our Georgian Walled Garden has been transformed with the help of acclaimed architect Peter Holden and garden designer Cheryl Cummings.
